AURCET 2018 Notification | Andhra University CET 2018 for MPhil PhD Admission
AURCET 2018: Andhra University, Directorate of Admissions has issued notification for Research Admissions into Full-Time and Part-Time M.Phil./PhD Programs in Arts, Science, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Law Faculties for 2018 sessions.
On behalf of the A.U, Directorate of Admissions, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam invites applications from eligible Applicants for admission through Andhra University Research Common Entrance Test (AURCET) 2018 into M.Phil (Full-time/Part-time)/PhD Program (Full-Time/Part-Time) in the subject areas, for the year 2018 offered in Campus Colleges, PG Centers, and recognized Research Centers in affiliated Colleges.
Applicants having PG Degree in Science, Arts, Law, Pharmacy & Engineering Courses and seeking admission into M.Phil or PhD Programs must appear for the Entrance Test (AURCET 2018) conducted by the Directorate of Admissions.
AURCET 2018 Important Dates
Issue of Press Notification: 2nd week of June 2018
Commencement of Submission of Online Applications: 2nd week of June 2018
Last Date for Submission of Online Applications: 2nd week of July 2018
Last Date for Submission of Online Applications with late fee of Rs.1000/-: 3rd week of July 2018
Last Date for Submission of online Applications with Special late fee of Rs.3000/-: 4th week of July 2018
Last date for submission of online Applications with Special late fee of Rs.5000/-: 1st week of August 2018
Commencement of Examinations: 2nd week of August 2018
Date of Results: 4th week of August 2018
Commencement of Admissions (Tentative): 1st week of September 2018
Research Programs for the award of M.Phil. or PhD degrees can be pursued in the Faculties of Arts, Law, Science, Engineering and Pharmaceutical Sciences by Applicants possessing minimum qualifications prescribed in Annexure-I.
Full-Time M.Phil/ PhD Program
Postgraduate degree holders with at least 55% of marks (50% in the case of SC/ST Applicants) or equivalent CGPA in the concerned subject or in an allied subject or any other PG Degree recognised by the University as equivalent thereto prescribed in eligibility criteria can apply.
They must qualify in AURCET-2018.
Part-Time M.Phil/PhD Program
In-Service Applicants satisfying the above eligibility conditions can apply for part-time. Admission into part-time programs will be made by preparing merit order by considering rank and service weightage.
AURCET 2018 Exam Pattern
Common Entrance Test (AURCET-2018) for admission into M.Phil & PhD Programs in various Science, Arts, Law, Pharmacy and Engineering Basic Sciences and humanities in Engineering will be conducted by the Directorate of Admissions in Visakhapatnam only.
AURCET 2018 for each subject/dept. consists of one paper with multiple-choice objective type questions including oral exam; this Paper contains 20 questions in Research Methodology with 20 marks, 70 questions in concerned subject with 70 marks.
After the written exam, there is an oral exam for 10 marks will be conducted in Departments by the concerned DRC; the minimum qualifying marks in AURCET-2018 is 25 marks and no minimum marks for SC/ST/PHC category students.
All Applicants qualified in the Entrance Test will be awarded AURCET 2018 test-wise Rank as per marks secured in the test and Interview.
In case of a tie between Applicants securing the same marks the order of merit will be decided on the basis of marks obtained in Part-II of the Test.

AURCET 2018 Admission Procedure
For M.Phil. & PhD (Full-Time)
80% of the seats with the AURCET 2018 rank for Arts & Science courses and 100% each for Engineering, Pharmacy and Law courses.
20% of the seats in Arts & Science courses, to be filled by the Applicants having MPhil Degree, UGC-CSIR NET/ICMR (Lecturership), APSET in the subject concerned with an AURCET 2018 Rank.
Admission into part-time programs will be made on the basis of AURCET-2018 Rank and weightage obtained in the service. In the respective category in the following order of priority.
- Teachers working in the University or the AUPG Centers.
- Teachers working in Postgraduate and professional colleges.
Admission into part-time PhD will be made on the basis of AURCET-2018 Rank in the respective categories. The final ranking of AURCET-2018 will be evaluated based on the marks obtained in the written test and service weight age.
Regular Faculty working in the University or the A.U. P.G. Centers.
(i) Faculty working in Postgraduate and Professional colleges having completed a minimum service of two years.
(ii) Faculty/Librarians/Asst. Librarians working in affiliated degree /PG colleges and Faculty teaching physics, chemistry, mathematics and humanities in professional colleges, having completed a minimum service of three years.
AURCET 2018 Application Procedure
The eligible applicants should apply online only for admission into the M.Phil./Ph.D. program through the website www.audoa.in.
Applicant has to pay Rs.1000/- (Rs.700/- for SC/ST/PHC) for each subject and for each additional program the processing fee is of Rs.500/- additional through online.
Application forms completed in all respects should reach the Director, Directorate of Admissions, Andhra University, Vijayanagar Palace, Pedawaltair, Visakhapatnam-530017 by Registered Post or in person on or before due date.
Office of the Directorate of Admissions will not hold any responsibility for the non -receipt of applications sent by post or courier or late receipt of applications due to postal delay or for any reason whatsoever.
