DTE SCERT Odisha B.Ed Admission 2017 Eligibility, Application Form, Entrance Exam, Selection Procedure, Important Dates and more

Directorate of Teacher Education & SCERT Odisha (SCERT Odisha), Bhubaneswar has invited applications for admissions to B.Ed. Course for 2017-19 sessions.

Applicants can apply SCERT Odisha B.Ed Admission Online Form 2017 from May 30th 2017 to June 20th 2017.

DTE SCERT BEd Exam 2017 Eligibility Criteria

She/he must be an Arts / Science Graduate. General applicants should have at least 50% marks in aggregate in the Bachelor’s Degree Exam or in the Master’s Degree in concerned Science/ Social Science/Humanity subject and SC/ST, SEBC & PH applicants should have 45% of marks in aggregate in the Bachelor Degree Exam or in the Master’s Degree. She/he should have passed Graduation with at least two school subjects of minimum 200 marks each.


Applicants having Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Technology (B.Tech) with specialization in Science and Mathematics (as per AICTE syllabus) with 55% marks in aggregate for General applicants and 50% marks in aggregate for SC, ST, SEBC and PH applicants.

The Science graduate applicants should have passed with two school subjects (with not less than 200 marks each) out of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Computer Science and Geography.

N.B.: The Applicants claiming reservation for PCM subject must have studied all the concerned subject i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of minimum 200 mark each.

For the Arts Graduate applicant: The applicants applying for Arts category must have studied at least two (02) school subjects of 200 marks each at their Graduation level. The applicants having any two language subjects at their Graduation level can not claim as having two schools subjects. All the language subjects viz. English/Odia/Hindi/Sanskrit studied as compulsory/ pass/honours/electives shall be treated as one subject.

Applicants must have studied two (02) school subjects from the following: English/Odia/Hindi / Sanskrit, History, Geography, Economics, Indian Economy, Political Science, Landmarks in Indian History, Indian Geography, Indian Polity, Mathematics.

N.B.: The Applicants having English/Odia/Sanskrit/Hindi subjects either as pass, honours or elective must have studied another school subjects as mentioned above besides the language subjects.

She/he must have passed Odia as MIL up to HSC level or any such equivalent or higher examination or have passed Odia as a subject in specific exam conducted by BSE, Odisha of HSC standard or should have passed HSC Exam of BSE, Odisha in Odia medium with MIL other than Odia.

The Applicants seeking admission in B.Ed. Course for the seats reserved for Telugu Applicants must have studied Telugu as one optional subject at Graduation level.

Age Limit: The age limit as on June 30th 2017.

For SC/ST and SEBC Applicants 35 years – she/he should not have born before June 30th 1982.

For Women Applicants of all categories 35 years – she should not have born before June 30th 1982.

For General Applicants 30 years – He should not have born before June 30th 1987.

For PH Applicants 40 years – She/he should not have born before June 30th 1977.

The upper age limit is inclusive of age relaxation for relevant groups as admissible under rules.

DTE SCERT BEd Exam 2017 Selection Process

State Level Selection of all categories of applicants shall be made through Entrance Test on the basis of their marks secured in Entrance Test.

The result of the Entrance Test does not ensure the confirmation and guarantee of admitting the student to the Course as it is subject to verification of the authenticity and appropriateness- of the documents.

Syllabus of the Entrance Exam is available in the website as well as in the Information Brochure.

General and SEBC category applicants are required to pay Rs.400/-, SC/ST category applicants are required to pay Rs. 200/-.

The applicants are required to make the payment through Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking / Bank Deposit in Axis Bank.
