DURAT 2018 – Dibrugarh University has announced notification for Dibrugarh University Research Admission Test (DURAT) 2018 shall be conducted to select eligible applicants for admission to the M.Phil and PhD Programs of Dibrugarh University. Dibrugarh University Entrance Exam 2018 (Research Admission Test)

DURAT 2018 shall be conducted by a Board, to be called DURAT Board, constituted by the Vice-Chancellor for a period of three years. The Dean, Research and Development and the Deputy Registrar (Academic) shall be the Chairperson and Member Secretary respectively.

DURAT Exam Date 2018

  • Date of Notification: 22nd October 2018
  • Online Application portal activates on: 25th October 2018
  • Last date of submission of Online Applications: 20th November 2018 (till 5.00 p.m.)
  • Date of the DURAT 2018: 09th December 2018 (10:30 a.m. to 01:00 pm)
  • Date of the Declaration of Result by 23rd December 2018

DURAT 2018 Application Form

  • Online submission of the DURAT 2018 Application Form will begin from 25th October 2018. Application for DURAT 2018 is through online mode only. No other means of application is accepted. The last date for submission of Application is 20th November 2018 (upto 5.00 p.m.)
  • For submission of the Online Application Form, intending candidates are advised to follow the following instructions
  • Applicant shall be required to register in the portal www.dibru.online by entering Full Name, Username, Password and a Mobile Numbers to login. The candidate will get an “Activation Code” in the mobile which is to be entered for Activation
  • After Activation, the candidates shall be required to log in with his/ her user name and password and shall be required to fill up the Online Application Form with correct and appropriate information
  • The applicants shall be required to pay the DURAT Fee of Rs.600/- only through the online payment gateway by using Debit Card/Credit Card/ Internet Banking during the submission of form. No other mode of payment is acceptable
  • The applicants can save and review the information entered before submission, which can be edited on subsequent login. However, after Submission, editing of information shall not be possible
  • On submission of the Online Application Form by an applicant, an Admit Card with a Unique Number shall be generated against each successful submission of Application. The Candidates shall have to take a print out of the Admit Card and bring it to the Exam Hall on the Date of the Test for verification.

Before starting the application process, please ensure that you have the following

  1. Scanned copy of your photograph (The file should be less than 512kb and maximum resolution – width: 180px & height: 200px).
  2. Your scanned signature (The file should be less than 512kb and maximum resolution – width: 300px & height: 60px).
  3. Scanned copy of your final Marksheet/ Gradesheet of the qualifying examination (The file should be less than 512kb and must be in jpg format).
  4. Scanned copy of your Registration Card/Migration Certificate/Pass Certificate (The file should be less than 512kb and must be in jpg format)
  5. Scanned copy of Caste Certificate/Non-Creamy Layer Certificate, if applicable. (The file should be less than 512kb and must be in jpg format)
  6. A valid mobile number for sending Activation Code or OTP(One Time Password).
  7. Any of the following facilities for online payment of application fee.
  • Net Banking
  • Debit Card (VISA, Master, Maestro, RuPay)
  • Credit card

DURAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants intending to appear in the DURAT 2018 for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and the MPhil Programs shall have to obtain at least 55% marks in OR equivalent grade point in the Master’s Degree, in which he/ she intends to appear in the DURAT.
  • A relaxation upto 5% of marks or an equivalent relaxation of grade in the qualifying degree is allowed for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) and the Differently-Abled category

How to Apply DURAT 2018 ?

Step by Step Instructions

  • Step 1: Click the “Enter” button at the top right of this page. Register by entering Your Full name, a Username, Your Mobile No and a Password. You will get an “Activation Code” in your mobile. Enter your Mobile No and the Activation Code and click “Activate” button to activate your account.
  • Step 2: Login using your Username and Password. Click “Apply for DURAT”.
  • Step 3: Fill up the form stage by stage. Click Save & Continue after each stage. Upload the required documents. You can access the saved information anytime and modify it before final submission.
  • Step 4: Review the form in Stage 4. Check the information, documents, photograph and signature whether they are correctly entered and displayed. If anything needs to be edited, you can do so by going back to the relevant stage either through the back button or by clicking the corresponding button for that stage.
  • Step 5: Click the Submit button after you have reviewed your form. Application Fee Amount and other payment information will be displayed. You will be required to pay your Application Fee online.
  • Step 6: Click “Proceed to Pay”. Select any one of the payment options available i.e Netbanking, Debit card (Visa, Master, Mastero, RuPay), credit card etc. The ATM-cum-Debit card option is for older versions of ATM cards which is now supported only by limited number of banks.
  • Step 7: After successful submission a receipt with a unique transaction id will be generated. You will be able to download the Admit Card from the link “Download Admit Card”. Please remember your application form is considered to be finally submitted only when the application fee is successfully paid and Downloadable Receipt is generated. After final submission, you will not be able to add/modify any information in the form.

DURAT 2018 Exam Pattern

  • The DURAT 2018 shall be conducted in a single paper which shall comprise of two parts: (a) 50% on Research Methodology/ Research Aptitude (Group A) and (b) 50% from Core Course Components of the subject concerned (Group B)
  • The paper shall carry 100 marks. The duration of the DURAT shall be of two and half hours. The pattern of the Question Papers shall be as below:
  • There shall be Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions for 50 Marks containing 25 questions. Each question shall carry 2 marks. 12/13 questions shall be set from Group A, i.e, from Research Methodology/Research Aptitude and 12/13 questions from the Group B, i.e, the Core Course Components of the subject concerned
  • The internal option of each question in the Group A is 04(four)
  • There will be negative marking of 25% of allotted marks against each incorrect response
  • A total of 50 marks of the Question paper shall contain Descriptive Type questions. These shall be distributed as below-
  • Group A (Research Methodology/ Research Aptitude) = 25 marks
  • Two Essay Type Questions of 10 marks each (10×2) = 20 marks
  • One short note or short answer type Question = 5 marks
  • Group B (Core Course Components of the subject) = 25 marks
  • Two Essay Type Questions of 10 marks each (10×2) = 20 marks
  • One short note or short answer type Question = 5 marks

Note: As per the latest UGC Guidelines, DURAT is exempted only for the NET JRF and MPhil (in regular mode and in the relevant subject only) qualified applicants.
