  • Display of lists of applicants for GCET 2019 Entrance Test: July 10th, 2019 (Wednesday)

  • Date of GCET-2019 i.e. Entrance Test: July 13th, 2019 (Saturday) at 10.30 AM to 12.30 PM

  • Last date for submission of PART-II of application form and uploading of certificates/documents as laid down in the Prospectus: July 17th, 2019 (Wednesday) to July 22nd, 2019 (Monday) upto 4.00 PM
  • Display of lists of applicants provisional eligible for Counseling: July 25th, 2019 (Thursday)
  • Date of First Counseling for B.Optom, B.Sc. Nursing, Anaesthesia & OT, X-Ray & MLT.: July 26th, 2019 (Friday)
  • Second Counseling: July 30th, 2019 (Tuesday)
  • Date of start of session: August 01st, 2019
  • Mop up round (if needed due to vacant seats): August 28th, 2019 (Wednesday)

Distribution of Seats

  • UT Chandigarh Pool (85%): Chandigarh Administration‘s circular No. 19/1/93/IH (3-99/11136) dated 9th June, 1999 provides that 85% seats of the total sanctioned intake of an institution will be filled up from amongst the students who pass their qualifying examination from schools/colleges recognized by the Chandigarh Administration and located in the Union Territory, Chandigarh, as regular students of the said school/college.
  • General Pool (15%): Remaining 15% seats will be filled from amongst students, who passed their qualifying examination from institutions other than those located in the Union Territory, Chandigarh.
  • In both pools, 15% seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC).

GMCH Chandigarh B.Sc Paramedical Application Form 2019

  • Applicant has to fill online application form available at GMCH website www.gmch.gov.in
  • Before applying, applicants are advised to go through the admission notice and the instructions carefully, published in the newspapers / prospectus and then fill in the online application form.
  • Before applying for any course, the applicants should ensure that he/she fulfils all the eligibility norms. The applicant should have the requisite educational qualifications from recognized University/Institute. GMCH, Chandigarh can reject the applications of applicants at any stage of admission process in case the applicant is not fulfilling the requisite criteria.
  • Prospectus is available only as a PDF document on GMCH Website www.gmch.gov.in for viewing/downloading. It is not available in printed form.

Application fee

  • Rs. 2000/- (Other Categories) + Bank charges (if any)
  • Rs. 1000/- (SC Category) + Bank charges (if any)
  • The application fee, once paid shall not be refunded.
  • All applicants have to submit application fee online only at the time of filling online Part-I of application form. Fee cannot be deposited in any other form such as cheque, demand draft etc.

Eligibility Criteria for GMCH Chandigarh B.Sc Paramedical Courses Admission 2019

B.Sc. Medical Lab Technology Course (3 years Course)

  • Applicants who possess one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to apply for admission in B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology degree course:
  • A applicant who have passed in 10+2 examination or other equivalent qualifying examination individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) applicants conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
  • A person who has passed 10+2 vocational course (Medical Laboratory Technology) in their respective elective subjects & English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) applicants conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
  • A person holding qualification of 3 yrs. Diploma in MLT (equivalent to 10+2) & must have obtained aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) applicants, from any recognized Board/Council/University, shall also be eligible.

B.Sc. Medical Technology (X-Ray) Course (3 years Course)

  • Applicants who possess one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to apply for admission in B.Sc. Medical Technology (X-RAY) degree course:
  • A applicant who have passed in 10+2 examination or other equivalent qualifying examination individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) applicants conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
  • A person who passed 10+2 vocational course (X-Ray Techniques) in all the vocational course subjects of Radiation Physics, Radiography-I General, Radiography-II Special, Biology & English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) applicants conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
  • A person holding qualification of Diploma in Radiography/X-ray Techniques must have obtained aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) applicants from any recognized Board/Council/University shall also be eligible provided he/she joined diploma course after passing 10+2 examination with Science (physics, chemistry and biology) subjects.

B.Sc. Medical Technology (Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Techniques) Course (3 years Course)

  • Applicants who possess one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to apply for admission in B.Sc. Medical Technology (Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre) degree course:
  • A applicant who have passed in 10+2 examination or other equivalent qualifying examination individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) applicants conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
  • A person holding qualification of Diploma Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Techniques (2 or 3 years) must have obtained aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) applicants from any recognized Board/Council/University shall also be eligible provided he/she joined diploma course after passing 10+2 exam with Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology).

B.Optom. (4 years Course including 01 year internship)

  • Applicants who possess one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to apply for admission in Bachelor of Clinical Optometry (B.Optom.) degree course:
  • A applicant who have passed in 10+2 examination or other equivalent qualifying examination individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) applicants conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
  • A person who has passed 10+2 Vocational Course (Ophthalmic Technique) in their respective elective subjects and English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) applicants conducted by recognized Board/Council / University.
  • A person holding qualification of Diploma in Ophthalmic Techniques (2 or 3 years) must have obtained with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) applicants from any recognized Board/Council/University shall also be eligible provided he/she joined diploma course after passing 10+2 exam with Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology).

B.Sc. Nursing Degree Course (4 years including 6 months internship)

  • Applicants who possess one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to apply for admission in B.Sc. Nursing degree course:
  • A applicant who have passed in 10+2 examination or other equivalent qualifying examination individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) applicants conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
  • Students appearing in 10+2 examination in Science conducted by National Institute of Open School will also be eligible provided they secure aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for SC applicants.

Age Limit: Minimum 17 years as on 31st December 2019.

Scheme of Examination

  • Scheme of examination shall be as under:
  • The medium of GCET 2019 will be English only. Paper will consist of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Each question will carry 1 (one) mark (maximum marks 100). There will be no negative marking.
  • For all the courses, the duration of the entrance test will be of two hours.
  • The minimum qualifying marks in GCET-2019 for inclusion in the list of successful applicants are as below: (a) General category: not less than 45% (b) SC category: not less than 40%
  • For 10+2 (Medical Group i.e. Physics, Chemistry & Biology) passed applicant for all courses
  • Syllabus will be of 10+2 standard equivalent to AISSCE/ CBSE/ ICSE/SSCE/ HSCE. (i) Biology 50 Questions; (ii) Physics 25 Questions; (iii) Chemistry 25 Questions
  • For 10+2 (Vocational stream) passed applicants & diploma in respective discipline
  • B.Sc. (Medical Laboratory Technology) – Anatomy and Physiology 30 questions; Biology & Chemistry 35 questions; Lab Techniques (Microbiology, Biochemistry, Hematology & Histopathology) 35 questions
  • B.Sc. Medical Technology (X-Ray) – Anatomy and Physiology 30 questions; Radiation Physics & Biology 35 questions; Radiographic Techniques 35 question
  • B.Optom. – Biology-Ophthalmic 30 questions; Optics 35 questions; Ophthalmic Techniques 35 questions.

GMCH CHD B.Sc Paramedical Selection Procedure

  • The selection will be made on the basis of rank/merit obtained in the GMCH Combined Entrance Test-2019 (GCET-2019) to be conducted by Government Medical College & Hospital, Chandigarh.
  • There are no marks for counseling.
