JEE Main Exam Pattern 2020 | New JEE Main Question Paper

JEE Main Exam Pattern 2020: Admission criteria to UG Engineering Courses at NITs, IIITs, Other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, Institutions funded by participating State Govt., and other Institutions shall include the performance in the class 12/equivalent qualifying Exam and in the Joint Entrance Exam, JEE Main.

The Paper-1 (B.E./B.Tech.) of JEE Main 2020 will also be an eligibility test for the JEE Advanced 2020, which the applicant has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programs offered by the IITs.

The States of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland and Odisha have joined JEE Main system. Therefore, the applicants seeking admission to the institutions in these states, which were earlier admitting based on their State Level Exam, are also advised to fill in the JEE Main 2020 online application form.

JEE Main Examination Mode

Separate exam will be conducted for those students who wish to pursue B.Planning in only one shift.

Students have a choice to appear in JEE Main 2020 in only one, or two or all three exams, respectively.

The total number of questions has been reduced from 264 to 233.

JEE Main 2020 exam will now also include numerical questions along with MCQ questions.

JEE Main 2020 exam duration

JEE Main Exam Duration will be 3 hours. The candidates with 40% disability will get 4 hours for the exam.

JEE Main exam negative marking

In the MCQ questions, for every wrong answer or multiple answers for a question, the applicant will face a negative marking of 1 mark. In case of a question left unanswered or marked for review, no marks will be deducted.    

In the numerical questions, there will be no negative marking for wrong answers, unanswered questions or questions marked for review.

JEE Main 2020 Question Paper

 For JEE Main Exam centers located in Daman & Diu, Gujarat and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, the JEE Main exam question paper will also be available in Gujarati language. For all the other exam centers, the Question paper of JEE Main 2020 exam will be available in Hindi and English languages only. So, if applicant wants the question paper in Gujrati language then, he / she must select the exam center located in Daman & Diu, Gujarat and Dadra and Nagar Haveli only.
