NCHMCT NHTET 2019 National Hospitality Teachers Eligibility Test

NCHMCT NHTET 2019 (July): National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India has invited online applications for the National Hospitality Teachers Eligibility Test 2019 (NHTET 2019). About NCHMCT NHTET

“The method of recruitment of teachers will be reorganized to ensure merit, objectivity and conformity with spatial and functional requirements”.

To overcome the situation and to maintain the quality in hospitality education the scheme of National Hospitality Teachers Eligibility Test (NHTET) has been drawn up.

NHTET 2019 Exam Dates

  • Apply through Online: 13th June 2019 to 09th July 2019
  • Last Date for Receipt of confirmation sheet along with Fee (DD):12th July 2019
  • Admit card can be downloaded from the Website: 15th to 20th July 2019
  • NHTET Exam Date (July 2019): 20th July 2019 in two sittings From 9.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.
  • Uploading of “Answer Key” in By 21st July 2019
  • Time to challenge answers by the candidate by e-mail to [email protected] Up to 25th July 2019
  • Expert committee meeting on challenged: Latest by 29th July 2019
  • Announcement of result in by 02nd August 2019

Eligibility Criteria for NHTET 2019

Applicant must have full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Administration/ Hotel Management after 10+2 from a recognized University with at least 60% marks with at least 2 years of industry experience after obtaining Degree (or)

Applicant must have full-time Master’s Degree in Hospitality Administration/Hotel Management after Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Administration / Hotel Management from a recognized University with at least 60% marks either in Bachelor or Master’s Degree.

Applicants appearing in the final semester/final year exam of the master’s degree and have passed all subjects of previous year/ semester, and also having Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Administration/ Hotel Management from a recognized University with at least 60% marks, can also apply.

Age Limit for NHTET 2019

Applicants born on or after the following dates are eligible to apply:

  • General Category 30th September 1989
  • OBC Category 30th September 1986
  • SC/ST and PD Categories 30th September 1984

On passing the NHTET they will be allowed to apply against any vacancy of AL and TA (of which maximum) age is 30 years with relaxation for reserve Applicants).

NHTET 2019 Selection Procedure

NHTET will comprise of following steps:

Step I: Minimum marks to be obtained in NHTET for considering Applicant eligibility for Assistant Lecturer and Teaching Associates in NCHM and its any affiliated IHM:

The Applicants are required to obtain following minimum marks separately in Paper-I, Paper-II, Paper-III and Aggregate of three Papers, to become eligible for both i.e. Assistant Lecturer and Teaching Associates, are as given below.

GENERAL/ OBC

  • Paper I: 45 (45%) out of 100
  • Paper II: 45 (45%) out of 100
  • Paper III: 100 (50 %) out of 200
  • Aggregate: 200 (50 %) out of 400

PWD/ SC/ ST

  • Paper I: 40 (40%) out of 100
  • Paper II: 40 (40%) out of 100
  • Paper III: 90 (45 %) out of 400
  • Aggregate: 180 (45 %) out of 400

The Applicants are required to obtain following minimum marks separately in Paper-I, Paper-II, Paper-III and Aggregate of three Papers, to become eligible only for Teaching Associate, are as given below.

GENERAL/ OBC

  • Paper I: 40 (40%) out of 100
  • Paper II: 40 (40%) out of 100
  • Paper III: 90 (45 %) out of 200
  • Aggregate: 180 (45 %) out of 400

PWD/ SC/ ST

  • Paper I: 35 (35%) out of 100
  • Paper II: 35 (35%) out of 100
  • Paper III: 80 (40 %) out of 400
  • Aggregate: 160 (40 %) out of 400

Step II: Amongst those Applicants who have cleared step I, a detailed mark sheet-cum-certificate will be prepared and send to such Applicants. The said certificate will remain valid for the period mentioned on it, to apply for a post of Assistant Lecturer in NCHM or any of its affiliated IHMs.

Step III: Those Applicants who have not cleared step I, a detailed mark sheet will be prepared with a remark ‘not cleared’ and will be displayed in the web portal www.thims.gov.in.

It may be noted that the above qualifying criteria decided by NCHMCT are final and binding. However, the NCHMCT has the power to change the qualifying criteria if feel necessary and notify along with the reason for change before declaring the result.

Scheme and Date of Test

The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be held once in a calendar year. However, in case of insufficient Applicants are qualified, the NCHMCT can hold the exam twice in a calendar year. The test will be held on a single day in two separate sessions as under:

  • Paper-I: First (1 hour from 09.00 am to 10.00 am) – 50 Questions; 100 Marks (each question will carry 2 marks)
  • Paper-II: First (1 hour, from 10.30 am to 11.30 am) – 50 Questions; 100 Marks (each question will carry 2 marks)
  • Paper-III: Second (2 hours, from 02.00 pm to 04.00 pm) – 100 Questions; 200 Marks (each question will carry 2 marks)
  • Paper-I, II: Negative Marking – ½ marks for each wrong answer or for double attempted
  • Paper-III: Negative Marking – 0 marks for the questions not attempted

The Applicant will have to mark the responses for questions of Paper-I, Paper-II, and Paper-III on the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) sheet provided along with the Test Booklet.

The detailed instructions for filling up the OMR Sheet will be mentioned in the call letter/ hall ticket.

NHTET 2019 Test Centres

NHTET in 16 Cities – Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai, Gandhinagar, Chennai, Bhopal, Kolkata, Guwahati, Chandigarh, Bhubaneswar, Gurdaspur, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Hazipur (Near Patna), Thiruvananthapuram.

Applicants must apply online only at the Tourism & Hospitality Institute Management System website www.thims.gov.in after checking out the detailed brochure which contains information about the exam scheme and passing criteria.

NHTET 2019 Application Fees

800/- for General/OBC categories (male Applicants only)

400/- for all female Applicants as well as SC/ST/PD categories

(Through a demand draft is drawn in favour of NCHMCT payable at Noida or Delhi)

The applicant has to send the print out of filled in online application along with the requisite fee through a Demand Draft to reach NHMCT by July 12th, 2019 at this address: NCHMCT, A-34, Sector-62, Noida-301209 (U.P.).

NHTET 2019 Admit Card

NHTET Admit card 2019 can be downloaded from the portal website. No printed Admit card will be sent by surface mail to any Applicant.

No Applicant will be allowed to enter into the exam hall without a print out of Admit Card and the original ID Card uploaded in the application form.
