NIMCET 2018 is a National Level Entrance Test for admission into Master of Computer Applications Programme (MCA) offered by 11 participating National Institutes of Technology (NITs) at Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli and Warangal, for the year 2018.
NIMCET 2018: National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are Institutions of National Importance under MHRD, Govt. of India. NIMCET is a Common Entrance National Level Test, conducted by any of the NITs, for admission in MCA programme. The MCA programme is offered by NITs at Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli and Warangal. The admission into the MCA programme for the year 2018-19 in above 11 NITs is based on the Rank obtained in NIMCET 2018 only.
NIMCET 2018 Eligibility Criteria
Indian Nationals securing$ at least 60 percent marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale# (55 percent marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale in case of SC, ST) in B.Sc /B.Sc (Hons)/ BCA /BIT of minimum three years full-time. OR
B.E/B.Tech or equivalent from a recognized University is eligible to appear for the NIMCET 2018 test.
Applicants who are appearing for the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for NIMCET 2018 and such Applicants shall have to furnish the proof (in the form of a certificate issued by the Head of the institution where the Applicant has studied) of candidature for appearing the examinations during the academic year 2018.
All Applicants shall submit the proof of fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NIMCET-2018 at the time of Counseling/Admission but not later than 15th Sept. 2018, failing which their admission is liable to be cancelled by the respective NITs.
Students who have completed/completing degree B.Sc/B.Sc (Hons)/BCA/ BIT of 3 years from Open Universities are also eligible to apply provided their programme is approved by UGC / AICTE and Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India.
Conversion from CGPA to percentage and vice-versa is not permitted; (OR)
The percentages of marks in qualifying degree are to be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in all the subjects studied in all the years including languages, optional and additional subjects studied, if any.
The aggregate of marks secured in all the subjects in all the years computed using this method of calculation alone be considered by NIMCET-2018 for deciding eligibility.

The applicants who appeared and obtained marks in NIMCET 2018 will be allotted ranks
The applicants who obtained rank in NIMCET-2018 only shall be eligible for admission into MCA programme at the participating institutes.
