MBA in Power Management Programme 2016

National Power Training Institute (NPTI) Faridabad has invited applications for MBA Program in Power Management Admission for the 2016 sessions.

NTPI MBA Admissions through CAT Score (conducted by IIMs).

Program Structure

This is a 2 year program spread over four semesters; in the first year, the students take courses in major functional / general management areas like Human Resources, Operations, Finance & Accounting, Marketing, Information Technology and core Power Sector areas

Intake: The intake is 120 Seats (Non-Sponsored Seats: Gen – 53, SC – 16, OBC – 28); Sponsored Seats: 15

Eligibility for NPTI Faridabad MBA Admission 2016

All applicants (excluding sponsored category) are required to appear for CAT-2015 Examination conducted by IIMs

The applicants (including sponsored category) who have obtained B.E / B.Tech / B.Sc (Engineering) in any branch of Engineering or any other exam recognized as equivalent thereof by the M.D. University securing a minimum of 60 percent marks in aggregate of all semesters or equivalent in terms of CGPA grade are eligible to apply for admission to the course; for SC/ST applicants minimum pass marks are required (or equivalent in CGPA grade).

Applicants who have appeared in the current CAT exam conducted by IIMs are only eligible to apply.

Important Dates for MBA Admission 2016 (Tentative)

Last Date for Receipt of Application Forms: Third week of March 2016

Posting of short-listed candidates for GD&PI on Website: Third week of March 2016

Group Discussion (GD) & Personal Interview (PI): First week of April 2016

Posting of short-listed candidates for Counseling on Website: Third week of April 2016

1st Counseling: First week of May 2016

2nd Counseling: First week of August 2016

3rd Counseling: End of August 2016 (Depending on vacancy position)

Program Begins First week of August 2016

Admission Procedure

A) Merit List(s): Merit will be the only criteria for admission to MBA (Power Management) program

Merit list(s) for Non-Sponsored seats: i) 70 percent marks of the total scores obtained by the applicants in the CAT Exam; ii) Marks obtained by the applicants in Group Discussion (Max 20 Marks); iii) Marks obtained by the applicants in Personal Interview (Max 10 Marks)

Group Discussion and Interview will be conducted at NPTI, Corporate Office, Faridabad on First week of April 2016.

The merit list, duly approved by the Vice-Chancellor, prepared as per the above-mentioned criteria, by the Counselling Board constituted on the recommendations of the Dean, Faculty of Mgmt Sciences, M.D. University, Rohtak will be displayed on the Notice Board of NPTI and can also be seen on the website

Application forms can be downloaded from the website ( and must be sent along with a crossed Demand Draft (DD) of Rs1000/- (Rs500/- for SC/ST & Rs.250/- for Haryana SC/ST applicants) in favour of National Power Training Institute payable at Faridabad and sent to the Principal Director (Management Studies), National Power Training Institute, NPTI Complex, Sector-33, Faridabad-121003, Haryana

The last date for submission of the filled-in applications is Third week of March 2016.

Incomplete applications and applications received after the last date shall be rejected without any notice.

Fees and Expenses (Tentative)

Course Fee

(Non-Sponsored) – – Rs.125,000/- per semester

(Sponsored) – – Rs.500,000/- per annum

Security Deposit (refundable) – – Rs.5,000/-

Hostel Room Rent – – Rs.30,000/- per year

Alumni association life Membership – – Rs.1000/-

Student Welfare Activities – – Rs.2500/- per annum

Boarding Charges – – As per actual

Students are encouraged to get their medical insurance done.
