OTET Exam Date 2019

  • Online link will be available (24×7) from July 15th, 2019, 10.00 am till July 26th, 2019, 05.00 pm
  • The Payment of the fee shall be done through online mode only till July 29th, 2019, 04.00 pm
  • Last Date to make Payment for the Online Application Form: July 29th, 2019
  • Downloading of Admit Card: To be announced
  • Date of Exam: To be announced

OTET 2019 Eligibility Criteria

The following conditions of eligibility have been laid down by the Government of Odisha, Department of School and Mass Education vide the Resolution No.14302/SME, Bhubaneswar, dated the 04/06/12.

(I) Persons having the following minimum qualifications shall be eligible for appearing in OTET.

(a) Category-A (Paper-I) Higher Secondary (+2 or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (CT) OR Higher Secondary (+2 or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/ 2-year Diploma in Special Education.

(b) Category-B (Paper-II) Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) OR Graduation with 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education) OR Higher Secondary (+2 or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A.Ed./ B.Sc Ed. Provided that relaxation of 5% minimum qualifying marks in +2 or graduation level, as the case may be, shall be allowed to the applicants belonging to SC, ST, OBC/ SEBC category.

Provided further that applicants having minimum marks in +2 or graduation level, as the case may be, prescribed at the time of admission in teacher education courses shall also eligible to appear in OTET.

(II) Persons who are pursuing (final year) any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or by the RCI, as the case may be) specified above in both the categories.

(III) Persons declared eligible by the State Govt./ NCTE/ Govt. of India from time to time.

Untrained Applicants

(a) As per Govt. of Odisha, School and Mass Education Department Letter No.23860/SME dated 21/10/2013, the untrained applicants, belonging to SC/ST & PH Category having required percentage of marks (5% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks in +2 or Graduation Level as the case may be, for the applicants belonging to SC & ST categories) shall be eligible.

(b) As per ADDENDUM No.SME-EL2-EL2-0060-2015 1646/ SME dt.21/01/2016 of the Govt.  of Odisha, School, and Mass Education Dept., the following guidelines shall be added to the Para-4 of the Resolution issued from the Govt., Dept. of School and Mass Education Vide No.14302/SME dated-04/06/2012 regarding the eligibility of minimum qualification for appearing OTET Exam.

OTET 2019 Exam Pattern

OTET Exam Pattern for Category-A (Paper-I)

OTET 2019 exam pattern for Paper-I, is such that there will be 150 multiple choice questions in the exam that candidates need to complete in 2.5 hours duration. 30 questions of 30 marks will be asked from the following Subject:

  1. Child Development & Pedagogy
  2. Language-I (Odia/ Urdu/ Hindi/ Telugu/ Bengali)
  3. Language-II (English)
  4. Mathematics
  5. Environment Studies

It may be noted that in each subject area 20 questions will be from contents and 10 questions from Pedagogy.

Marking scheme: One mark will be awarded for each correct answer. There will be no negative marking in the exam.

OTET Exam Pattern for Category-B (Paper-II)

Similar to the pattern for Paper-I, OTET 2019 exam pattern for Paper-II is such that the question paper will contain a total of 150 objective-type multiple-choice questions. The duration of the exam will be 2.5 hours. 30 questions of 30 marks will be asked from the following Subject

  1. Child Development & Pedagogy
  2. Language-I (Odia/ Urdu/ Hindi/ Telugu/ Bengali)
  3. Language-II (English)
  4. Mathematics & Science (30 questions from Mathematics and 30 questions from Science)
  5. Social Studies (30 questions from History as well as Political Science and 30 questions from Geography)

Note: Out of ‘Mathematics & Science’ and ‘Social Studies’, candidates need to attempt questions from any one subject area.

Also, in each subject area, 20 questions will be from contents and 10 questions from Pedagogy.

Marking scheme: Applicants will be awarded one mark for each correct answer. No marks will be deducted for any incorrect answer.

OTET 2019 Application Form

The Information Brochure and Online Application Form are available in the website www.bseodisha.ac.in. Syllabus of the entrance examination is available on the website as well as in the Information Brochure.

Instruction to Apply

  • Applications are invited from eligible applicants for appearing at the Odisha Secondary School Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2019 as per the following guidelines:
  • Applications shall be received through ONLINE mode only on visiting the Link website www.bseodisha.ac.in
  • ONLINE link will be available (24 X 7) from July 15th, 2019, 12.00 Noon till July 26th, 2019, 11.45 pm.
  • The payment of the fee shall be done through SBI Collect either in online or offline mode latest by 11.45 pm of July 29th, 2019. However, filling up of forms through online can be carried.
  • The step by step instructions for online registration, guidelines containing applicability, eligibility & qualifying criteria of the candidates, syllabus and its structure, instructions for physical handicapped applicants & format for the continuing certificate are available in the website www.bseodisha.nic.in.
  • The date for downloading of Admit Cards and date of the Exam shall be notified in due course. Under no circumstances, the last date for submission of application forms shall be extended.

Application Fee

  • Application Fee is Rs.500/- to be paid through SBI Collect Portal.

OTET Admit Card 2019

  • After completion of the application process, the admit card for the exam will be released. The applicants who will fill the application form in time will be able to download the admit card from the official website at bseodisha.nic.in.
  • The admit card will be released online no other mode will be introduced for downloading it. For downloading the admit card applicants have to provide the login credentials on the website.
  • The direct link will be provided here for the applicants. So that they can avail it easily.
