PUMDET 2018 for Post Graduate Programs

Presidency University, Kolkata has invited applications for admission to various Post Graduate Programs through an Entrance Exam, which will be conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) for 2017-18 sessions.

Duration of the Course: 2 years.

Seats Distribution of PG Courses: Bengali (37 Seats); English (37 Seats); Hindi (48 Seats); History (42 Seats); Philosophy (37 Seats); Political Sci. (37 Seats); Sociology (29 Seats); Life Sciences (59 Seats), Chemistry (37 Seats), Economics (31 Seats); Geography (31 Seats); Geology (25 Seats); Mathematics (25 Seats); Physics (37 Seats), Statistics (25 Seats).

Eligibility Criteria for PUMDET 2018

Citizenship: Applicant must be a citizen of India.

Applicants who have passed (not before 2017) or appearing B.A. (Hons) / B.Sc. (Hons) the final examination in 2017 from any recognized University, are eligible to apply for and appear in PUMDET-2018.

a) The applicant must have passed (not before 2017) or appeared in B.A. (Hons)/B.Sc. (Hons) examination in 2017 from any recognized University.

b) Applicants, who have appeared for their B.A. (Hons)/B.Sc. (Hons) examination and have their final results at the time of counseling will have to mandatorily produce all original mark sheets/grade cards of all semester/annual examinations passed at the Bachelor’s level. Such applicants must fulfill the academic eligibility norms for their applied courses tabled below for admission.

c) Applicants, who have appeared for their final B.A. (Hons)/B.Sc. (Hons) examination, but do not have their final results at the time of counseling, will be given provisional admission, on the basis of production of their previous mark sheets/grade cards of all previous semester/annual examinations at their Bachelor’s level.

However, they must submit their final mark sheet by 31st August 2018, demonstrating that they fulfill the minimum conditions of eligibility tabled below, failing which their admission will stand canceled.

d) Therefore the applicant must secure the minimum required percentage of marks/CGPA in Hons./major subject as per the following table in his/her B.A. (Hons) / B.Sc. (Hons) exam for final and confirmed admission.

Exam Centres

The examination will be conducted in various zones e.g. Kolkata, Howrah, Hoogly, Kalyani, Murshidabad, Bankura, Haldia, Assansol, Burdwan, Durgapur, Siliguri, Jamshedpur, Guahati, Silchar and Agartala.

Any of the exam centers may be dropped if the adequate number of applicants is not available.

PUMDET Application Form – How to Apply?

Application has to be filled up online at the Portal Applicant needs to visit the portal and follow the links <Examinations> – <PUMDET > – <ONLINE APPLICATION>.

The form is interactive in nature; there are two major steps in application form submission as follows:

Step-1 Registration

Applicant has to input name, date of birth, gender, mobile number and e-mail id. Applicant must take utmost care to give these inputs. If mistakes are committed, there is no chance of correction.

The mobile number and e-mail id entered will be used for all subsequent communication. Applicants also have to choose a log-in ID and password and remember them, which he/she will use for future log-in.

PUMDET applicants have to first choose group-A or group-B of subjects and then choose maximum two subjects from his/her choice of group.

Fee Submission

The applicant will have to pay the exam fee online (by Net Banking /Debit /Credit Cards) or Offline (by e-Challan).

The number of Application Fees to be paid for appearing in the PUMDET-2017 is Rs.400/- (Rupees four hundred only) plus the Bank’s Service Charges as applicable. The Exam Fees can be paid in cashless mode by ‘Net Banking’/‘Debit Card’/‘Credit Card’ or in cash using Allahabad Bank e-challan.

If offline mode is chosen, an e-challan will be generated automatically. Applicant needs to take a print of the challan and pay the fee in any branch of Allahabad Bank.
