Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Scope
- The scheme benefits students of Class XI and XII, and at the undergraduate level in Engineering, Medical and Technical / Professional courses besides Under Graduate, Post Graduate level students pursuing General Degree courses. These scholarships will be sanctioned to deserving students on merit-cum-means criteria.
- Students pursuing M.Phil courses and Doctoral courses (NON-NET JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW and NET-LECTURERSHIP) from State-aided Institutions will come under the purview of this Scholarship Scheme.
- Kanyashree recipients (K-2) pursuing Post Graduate courses in Science, Arts and Commerce stream from Universities of this State after obtaining Undergraduate Degree with 45% marks in aggregate from Institutions of this State will come under the aegis of this Scholarship Scheme.
- The upper ceiling for family income has been fixed at Rs.2,50,000/- per annum.
- As the payment will be made by direct beneficiary transfer only, furnishing of Bank details of the applicant, i.e. A/C No., Bank Name, IFS Code of Bank is mandatory.
- There will be no need to submit hard copy of the application.
- Applicants opting for these scholarships and found eligible, will not be allowed to enjoy any other governmental (central/state) scholarship or stipend for the same course/stage of study. However, one time grants or assistance received from any source, or free or partly-free studentship allowed by the host institutions will not debar the students from availing of the benefits of this scheme.
Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Application Form 2019
Different categories of applicants shall have to submit their applications to the respective hyperlink in the home page of www.svmcm.rry-bhed.gov.in as mentioned here under, in online mode.
For Class XI students: Commissioner of School Education, West Bengal, 7th floor Bikash Bhavan. Salt Lake, Kolkata-700091.
For First Year students of UG and PG Courses in General Education (Arts’ commerce and Science), and other Professional courses approved by UGC’ excluding Engineering and Medical/ Kanyashree applicants (K-3) pursuing Post Graduate courses in Science, Arts and commerce stream: Directorate of Public Instruction, West Bengal, 7th Floor, Bikash Bhavan, Salt Lake, Kolkata-700091.
For students pursuing 1st year, or 2nd-year Polytechnic Diploma course after passing Madhyamik Pariksha Higher secondary or its equivalent Examination: Directorate of Technical Education and Training, West Bengal, Karigari Bhavan’ 3’d Floor’ B/7′ Action Area-III, New Town, Kolkata-700107′.
For students pursuing First year UG and PG courses (Engineering and Technology) and other professional Engineering courses or its equivalent status approved by AICTE: Directorate of Technical Education, West Bengal, 10th floor, Bikash Bhavan, Salt Lake, Kolkata-700091′.
For students pursuing 1st year UG (Medical) courses like MBBS, BDS, BHMS’ BAMS, UG (Nursing), Diploma in Para Medical course, G.N’M’ Nursing and Students of pharmacy in three Government Institutes located at Jalpaiguri, Kalyani and Bankura: Directorate of Medical Education, West Bengal, Swasthya Bhavan’ GN Block, Sector-V, Salt Lake, Kolkata-700091′.
Detailed particulars of the “Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme” along with online application procedure, Model proforma for Income certificate and Income affidavit will be available from the following Website www.svmcm.wbhed.gov.in.
Applicants must submit the office copy of ‘Head of ‘the Institution declaration form (Hardcopy) generated from the web-portal to the concerned institutions Latest by November 30st, 2019 (Tentative).

Swami Vivekananda Scholarship 2019 Eligibility Criteria
The students of Post Madhyamik levels and onwards in regular courses, who are pursuing the studies and who are resident in West Bengal and studying in educational institutions of this state after passing out from the State Board/council of Secondary/Higher Secondary and Madrasha Education or a University of West Bengal setup by State Act and whose annual family income is not more than Rs.250000/-, may apply for this scholarship.
Category wise other eligibility criteria
a) For Scholarship at Higher Secondary Level (Rs.1000/- per month):
Applicants must obtain at least 75% marks in aggregate in Madhyamik Pariksha or its equivalent as stated above excluding optional elective subjects. Students who are enrolled in Class XI or its equivalent course c n passing Madhyamik Pariksha or its equivalent examination in 2018 are eligible to apply.
b) For Scholarship at Undergraduate Level (Rs.1000/- to Rs.5000/- per month):
Applicants must obtain at least 75% marks in aggregate (Best of five). Students who are enrolled in the first year of the Undergraduate course in Engineering/Medical/General Education/ G.N.M. Nursing/ Para Medical Diploma Course under the aegis of Directorate of Medical Education after passing the H.S Exam or its equivalent Examination 2018 are eligible to apply.
c) For Scholarship at Diploma (Polytechnic) Level (Rs.1500/- per month):
Students who are enrolled after passing out in Secondary (M.P) examination or its equivalent as stated above in 2018 for first year Diploma (Polytechnic) courses [H.S. Examination or its equivalent for Diploma in 1) Pharmacy, 2) Modem Office Practice & Management and 3) 3-D Animation & Graphics of 2 year duration] and after passing out H.S. (Vocational) courses from “West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education & Skill Development (erstwhile West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education and Training)” courses which is equivalent to H.S. examination for 2nd year Diploma (Polytechnic) courses on lateral entry basis, will be eligible to apply.
Applicants must obtain at least 75% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination excluding the marks secured in the optional elective subject if any]. The Diploma (Polytechnic) courses of the State have to be approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education & Skill Development (WBSCT&VE&SD), a Statutory Body under the Department of Technical Education, Training and Skill Development, Government of West Bengal.
d) For Scholarship at Postgraduate Level (Rs.2000/- to Rs.5000/- per month):
Applicants must obtain at least 53%o marks in Honours subjects at the Graduation level in General Education (55% marks in Graduation level in Honours subject of Engineering students) in the year 2018 who are enrolled in the first-year class of Post Graduate course in General Education /Engineering, are eligible to apply.
e) For Kanyashree applicants (K-3 component) (Rs.2000/- to Rs.25,00/- per month):
Kanyashree recipients with valid sanctioned K-2 ID pursuing Post Graduate courses in Science, Arts and Commerce stream from Universities of this State must obtain at graduation level 45% marks in aggregate from Institutions of this State in the year 2018 are eligible to apply. ‘There is no need to submit income certificate and income affidavit in respect of Kanyashree (K-3) applicant.
f) For M.Phil/ NON-NET/NET-LS Research Fellow (Rs.5000/- to Rs.8000/- per month):
Students pursuing the course from State-aided Institutions of higher learning in the financial year 2018 onwards and whose date of registration/date of enrolment (Ph.D applicant/M.Phil applicant) is 01st April 2018 and onwards is eligible to apply.
The concerned Institutes will forward the name of the applicants in requisite proforma Name of the Applicant, Date of Registration in Ph.D./ M. Phil., Mobile No. of the applicant, email of the applicant, the name of the Bank and branch of the applicant along with Bank Account Number and IFS code” Period of claim (from to) to the office of the DPI, WB (Scholarship section) (e-mail: [email protected]).

How to Apply Swami Vivekananda Scholarship 2019
Vivekananda Scholarship 2019 Application Procedure :
Steps to be followed to apply online
Online Registration: At first applicants need to fill up and submit the online registration form. On successful submission of the Registration Form, an Applicant ID of 15 characters will be generated and it will be used to login and complete the remaining Steps of the Application Form. The Applicant Id also required for all future correspondences. Please maintain the Password Policy, for choosing the Password in the Registration Form, as instructed. Please download the Registration Slip or note down the system generated Applicant ID for future use. The Applicant ID will also be sent to the mail id, entered at the time of registration.
Applicants, willing to apply for K3 are required to fill up the authentication form to verify their existence in Kanyashree(K2) with the input fields Kanyashee (K2) Year of Application, Kanyashree ID, Applicant’s Name, Applicant’s Date of Birth, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name. On successful completion of K2 authentication, applicants will be forwarded to the registration form. The rest of the process is the same as the fresh application procedure.
For Renewal of existing beneficiaries, Online registration is not needed, rather they can log in with their previous Applicant ID and Password to apply for renewal.

If Applicants forget their Applicant ID or Password, they can retrieve the same using Forgot Applicant ID/Password option from Applicant Login option.
Online Application: Login with the generated Applicant ID, Password (which was set during Registration Process) and Captcha (Security Code). After successful login, fill up the rest of the application forms. While uploading Scanned Copy of Image and Signature, please maintain File Format and File Size as mentioned. Image and Signature format should be JPG/JPEG and size should be in between 20KB-50KB and 10KB-20KB respectively.
Upload Documents: After successful submission of application forms, Scanned Supporting Document Upload form will have appeared. Upload all necessary documents as mentioned in the form. While uploading, please maintain the File format and File size, as mentioned. Files should be in PDF format and size should not exceed 400KB.
Documents to be uploaded for Fresh and Kanyashree Application:
- i. Mark sheet of Madhyamik Examination or its equivalent (Both sides)
- ii. Mark sheet of last Board/Council/University/College examination (Both sides)
- iii. Income certificate of the family (Not Applicable for Kanyashree)
- iv. Domicile certificate as Aadhaar ID/Voter ID/Ration card/Certificate Issued by concerned authority
- v. Scanned copy of Bank Passbook (1st Page, containing A/C No. and IFSC)
Documents to be uploaded for Renewal Application:
- i. Copy of the Marksheet of the last examination in the present course of study. (Both sides and in case of the semester examination system, year wise semester Marksheets).
- ii. Admission receipt for the promotion to the next higher class
Format for Income Certificate is available under Downloads option in the Top menu in all pages.
After a successful upload, Finalize the application.
Note: Please note that once an application is finalized, that application cannot be edited anymore.
Final Submission: After finalizing the application, download the Verification Certificate which contains two pages. First page is the Applicant Copy and second page is the HOI(Head of the Institution) Copy.
After verification and signed by HOI, an applicant will scan the Applicant Copy and upload the same in the application portal to complete the application process. HOI will retain the HOI Copy.
