University of Calicut, Kerala has invited applications for admission in the MPhil Programme for 2017 session.
M.Phil Program in the University Teaching Depts. for the following subjects: Arabic, Biotechnology, Botany, Women’s, Studies, Chemistry, Commerce and Mangement Studies, Computer Science, Economics, Education, English, Hindi, History, Library and Information Science, Life Sciences, Malayalam and Kerala Studies, Mathematics, Philosophy, Physical Education, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Russian and Comparative Literature, Sanskrit, Drama & Fine Arts (Drama, Music), Folklore Studies, Statistics, Zoology.

Eligibility for University of Calicut MPhil Admission 2017
Applicants who possess Master’s Degree in the subject concerned or any other relevant subject approved by the Board of Studies of this University or equivalent degree of any other Indian or Foreign Universities with not less than 55 percent marks are eligible to apply for the same.
For OEC / OBC Applicants 5 percent mark relaxation shall be given; in the case of applicants belonging to SC / ST category and teachers under FIP Scheme, a pass in the qualifying examination is sufficient.
Entrance Exam for MPhil
Admission will be on the basis of an entrance examination conducted by respective departments; the entrance test will consist of objective and descriptive type questions of 50 marks each, and the duration will be two hours.
Applicants who secures 50 percent marks and above in the entrance exam alone are eligible for admission to M.Phil course.
Applicants belonging to SC/ST category, however, need only 35 percent marks to qualify the entrance examination; teachers of affiliated colleges are exempted from the entrance exam.
Out of the total number of seats in each dept. 50 percent shall be reserved for students and 50 percent for teachers under FIP Scheme; if there is no eligible Applicant in any category, the other category shall be considered.

The duly filled in applications along with original challan receipt for Rs.300/- (for SC/ST Rs.135/- only) towards fee for application and entrance examination shall be forwarded to the concerned Heads of Departments of the University on or before March 08th 2017.
