University of Burdwan MPhil Admission 2016 Eligibility & Dates

MPhil Admission 2016 at University of Burdwan

University of Burdwan West Bengal invites applications for admission to 2 year MPhil Programme in the subjects mentioned below for the academic session 2016.

Subjects: English, Bengali, Sanskrit, Hindi, History, Economics, Philosophy, Political Science, Commerce, Library & Information Science.

Eligibility: Any applicant qualified Master’s Degree with 55 percent marks in concerned subjects may apply for admission.

Nature of the written test: The written test will be of one-hour duration and the questions will be set on the general papers of relevant post-graduate courses of studies comprising long and short type questions.

Hall Ticket, issued, will be treated as Admit Card: Hall Ticket must be retained by the candidate and to be shown at the Test Centre as and when required. No applicant will be allowed to enter into the test centre without Hall Ticket. Applicant must report at the test centre 30 minutes before the commencement of the test. No candidate will be allowed to go in after the commencement of the test.

Reservation: As per Govt. and University rules.

Submission of application form & collection of Hall Ticket: Filled-up application forms is to be submitted at the Office of Secretary, Faculty Council (Arts, etc.) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and at the time of ubmission of application form, please enclose, [a] attested Xerox copies of mark-sheet of all the Public xaminations passed [b] attested Xerox-copy of Admit Card of Madhyamik or equivalent examination [c] attested Xerox copy of relevant document, as case of in servicecandidates* [d] attested Xerox copy of SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PH certificate from the appropriate authority, [e] two recent passport size self attested photograph. Fill in the relevant portion of the Hall Ticket downloaded from website and get it only signed at the time of submitting the form to the office of the undersigned. Candidates are advised to collect the filled in Hall Ticket preferably personally from the office of the undersigned while submitting duly filled in application form or the same may be collected by his/her authorised person. In that case, a letter of authorisation, in his/her name, will have to produce. Hall Ticket will not be sent by post in any case. Incomplete applications will automatically be cancelled without showing any reason.

Downloaded form from applicants are advised to submit a Demand Draft (DD) of Rs250/- drawn in favour of “The Finance Officer, The University  of Burdwan” payable at SBI, Burdwan.
