VITEEE 2020 – VIT University Engineering Entrance Exam 2020
VITEEE 2020 Notification: VIT University has been invited applications for admission to B.Tech Programs will be purely on the basis of the marks secured in the VITEEE 2020 Computer Based Test (CBT).
Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is including an aptitude section in its computer-based test “VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE)” starting with the 2020-21 Batch. The decision to include the aptitude section in VITEEE 2020 has been made based on the feedback from industries and academia. The entrance examinations for the top universities across the world also test the aptitude of students, in addition to verbal and analytical ability.
The aptitude section in VITEEE will be in addition to Subjects viz. Maths or Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and English. The number of questions for the respective sections in VITEEE will be, Maths or Biology (40 questions), Physics (35 questions), Chemistry (35 questions), Aptitude (10 questions) and English (5 questions). The duration of the test will be two and a half hours and there will be no negative marking.

VITEEE 2020 Important Dates
- Date of Issue of Online/Offline Application Forms: From 27th September 2019
- Last date to Receive Application Form: 29th February 2020
- The last date to edit Online Application: 29th February 2020
- Slot Booking: 3rd week of March 2020 (Tentative)
- VITEEE 2020 Exam Date: 2nd to 3rd week of April 2020

VITEEE 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Nationality: The applicant must be a Resident/Non-Resident Indian National
Qualifying Exam: Applicants appearing for the VITEEE 2020 must have either completed or shall be appearing in 2020, in any one of the following qualifying exams:
The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE, New Delhi).
Intermediate or 2year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Srilanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
Applicants who have studied in Regular, Full time and Formal Education alone are eligible to apply.
Eligibility Criteria for the Qualifying Exam
Applicants appearing for the VITEEE in 2020 must-have secured an aggregate of 60 percent in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/ Intermediate).
The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 50 percent for the following categories:
i) Applicants belonging to SC/ST.
ii) Fill in the proforma as given in Annexure-III and have it attested by a competent authority.
CERTIFICATE TO PROVE NATIVITY must be produced at the time of counseling failing which they will not be considered for admission.
iii) Applicants who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible for all the 15 B.Tech Degree Programs.
iv) Applicants who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible for B.Tech Bio-Medical Engg and Biotechnology programs; they are also eligible for B.Tech Computer Science and Engg (Spec in Bioinformatics) but after joining, registering Mathematics as bridge course is mandatory.
VITEEE 2020 Age Limit
Applicants whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1998 are eligible to apply for VITEEE 2020 the date of birth as recorded in the High School/SSC/X Certificate will be considered authentic.
Applicants should produce this certificate in original as a proof of their age at the time of counseling, failing which they will be disqualified.

VITEEE 2020 Exam Pattern of the Entrance Examination (CBT)
i) All Questions will be of Objective Type.
ii) Part-I: Physics.
iii) Part-II: Chemistry.
iv) Part-III: Mathematics /Biology.
v) Applicants attempting Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics are eligible for all the 15 programs offered.
vi) Applicants attempting Physics, Chemistry & Biology are eligible for B.Tech. Bio-Medical Engg, Biotechnology and Computer Science and Engg (Spec. in Bioinformatics) programs only.
vii) The selection of pattern (Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics or Biology) has to be decided at the time of slot booking.
viii) All the questions will be mostly from the State Board of Higher Secondary Education and the CBSE syllabus only.
ix) Each part has 40 questions and each question carries one mark.
x) Each question is followed by 4 alternative answers; the Applicant will have to choose the correct answer and click the same.
xi) No negative marks for wrong answers.
xii) The Question paper will be in English only.
VITEEE 2020 Admission Procedure
- The admission will be purely on the basis of the marks secured in the VITEEE 2020, conducted by VIT University.
- Applicants who have not appeared for the VITEEE are not eligible for admission.
- Applicants will be shortlisted based on their entrance examination rank and will be called for the counseling.
- VITEEE for B.Tech. programme is common for VIT-Vellore, VIT-Chennai, VIT-Bhopal, and VIT-AP.
- Applicants can select the campus of their choice at the time of counseling based on the ranking.
- Consistent Academic Record in X and XII standard is required for Campus Placement.

VITEEE 2020 Admit Card
The e-Admit card will be generated once the Applicant has booked his/her schedule through the Online Test Booking System.
The e-Admit card will be auto-generated for only those Applicants who book a slot using the Online Test Booking system before the last date.
The e-Admit card will indicate the e-Admit card number, photograph of the student, address of the test center, test date and time selected by the Applicant; discrepancies, if any, must be brought to the notice of VIT University immediately.
The e-Admit Card will be made available for Applicants on www.vit.ac.in; Applicant must provide the application form number and Online Test Booking password to download the e- Admit card.
The copy of the e-Admit card will also be emailed to the Applicant.
